Sunday is coming. Are you ready?
Every week a pastor has a deadline. Sunday morning will come regardless of what happens during the rest of the week. It doesn’t matter how packed the calendar is, how many meetings there are, what kind of family events, or personal issues happen during the week. Days pass, and we eventually find ourselves back on Sunday morning.
With that pressure each week, it really is difficult to make the time each week to prepare as much as desired, to be finished at the right time, to have everything completed early, let alone plan ahead.
Recently I had the privilege of reading a new book by Brandon Kelley and Joe Hoagland called Preaching Sticky Sermons. This short book, filled with 39 practical applications for preaching, is an incredibly helpful tool when it comes to preparing a sermon each week.
This book covers issues such as being prepared spiritually, culturally and contextually before even preparing a sermon to the actual writing and delivering of the sermon itself.
If you are looking for some help with preparing a sermon, or looking to figure out how to prepare better sermons, the kind that “stick” in the hearts of minds of those you preach to, then this short book is for you.
You can purchase it on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0997886153/.
When you purchase a useful tool like this, it will become something you will return to time and time again as you journey to become a pastor who preaches sticky sermons.
